New Age to Distribute Panasonic Commercial Plasmas

New Age Electronics announced Monday that it has reached an agreement to distribute the full plasma television line from Panasonic Professional Display Co. Under the terms of the deal, New Age will distribute and manage product inventory for the custom installation, educational and value-added re-seller (VAR) markets.

New Age had already been distributing several Panasonic CE products, including TVs, Blu-ray players, cameras, and other SKUs.

“The commercial side of our flat panel business represents a key growth opportunity for Panasonic, and we chose to entrust a significant portion of this business to New Age based on the company’s longstanding history of successfully supporting our products,” Andrew Nelkin, president of Panasonic’s commercial plasma division, said in a statement.

The distributor’s agreement with Panasonic that was expanded into the New York area earlier this year; prior to that, New Age had been Panasonic’s exclusive distributor for five West Coast states since early in 2006.
