Sanus Systems this week announced the release of the Sanus Elements ELM803 Recessed Low Voltage In-Wall Box. The new product is meant to attach to the back of a mounted flat-panel TV, in order to route cables behind the TV while bringing it as close as possible to the wall.

The product, with an MSRP of $19.99, is meant to work with home theater installations.

"With the introduction of ultra-thin mounts, TVs can be placed an inch or less from the wall," Steve Frank, Sanus director of product management, said as part of the announcement.

"The TV looks great but it's often more difficult to install electrical boxes in the wall behind the mount and still have room to plug cables into the outlets. The ELM803 solves this problem with an in-wall wiring solution and plenty of space for cable management that's also easy to install."

Sanus will exhibit at International CES next month.
