Samsung to Mass-Produce 3D TVs

Samsung this week began mass production of 3D TV panels, becoming the first major CE company to do so. The new TVs will include LED and LCD models, in 40-, 46- and 55-inch denominations.

The company unveiled such products at International CES earlier this month in Las Vegas.

“Recently, 3D displays have captured the industry spotlight,” Samsung's LCD president, Wonkie Chang, said in a statement. “Samsung Electronics aims to lead the global 3D TV panel market in pioneering panel mass production for 3D LED and LCD TVs.”
