November 2008Petra Industries this week announced that it is extending holiday hours for independent retailers. From Nov. 29 through Christmas, the distributor’s Saturday hours will be 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Central Standard Time.

“We believe that consumers are going to make room in their holiday budgets for consumer electronics accessories,” the company’s executive vice president, Tate Morgan, said as part of the announcement. “Our extended hours program is simply another way for us to accommodate our dealers needs during this time of year by offering the best in customer service and support.”
Capitol Sales Reaches Deal With HAI
Capitol Sales Co. announced Monday that it has reached an agreement to distribute products from Home Automation, Inc. (HAI). The deal includes various HAI products, including home control systems, whole house audio, video surveillance equipment and other offerings.
“HAI is continually recognized for its innovative products and has won more awards than any other home automation company,” Capitol’s president and CFO, Curt Hayes, said as part of the announcement. “We are proud to align with HAI’s strong brand name and great reputation for delivering high-value home automation solutions. The addition of the HAI line fits perfectly into our efforts to expand our Home Control and System Integration product offerings.”
Many of Capitol’s existing vendor partners, including Russound, Leviton and OnQ Legrand offer products that integrate with HAI, the companies said.
WYNIT Now Distributing Corel
Photo speciality and printing provider Corel Corp. announced Tuesday that it has reached an agreement to have its products distributed by WYNIT, Inc. The deal includes the Ottawa-based company’s entire media and graphics software lineup.
“Given Corel and WYNIT’s strengths in photography and wide-format printing, this partnership really makes sense for our customers,” Corel’s senior vice president for sales and marketing for the U.S., Kevin Thornton, said as part of the announcement. “We look forward to working together to deliver solutions that have been designed specifically to serve the needs of these creative workflows.”

D&H Launches Foundation
D&H Distributing announced this week that it has established a charity foundation. The D&H Cares Foundation will be devoted to “charity, health, wellness and conservation,” and in its inaugural quarter donated $15,000 to the American Cancer Society.
